Broad Hinton is a small village located at the foot of the Marlborough downs just off the ancient path The Ridgeway and this is particularly popular with walkers and cyclists.

There are some 200 properties in the village and approximately 500 residents, 2 pubs the best pub being The Bell Inn on the main road -A4361 a school and village store with Post office.

Located at a cross road between Wootton Bassett and Marlborough both some six miles away on the main A4361 6 miles from Swindon and 4 miles from the historic site of Avebury.
Historical information:
This was plain Hentone in the Domesday Book. The spelling Brodehenton first appears in 1319. This Saxon name means the large heahtun (high settlement). Nearby Bincknoll Castle derives from the Saxon words beona (bees) cnoll (small hill). The word 'Castle' probably refers to an earth and wood motte and bailey castle built here after the Norman Conquest
